Whatever is top of mind usually ends up being the subject matter that you talk about the most, and work has been the case for me lately. A friend of mine was trying to bait me into a conversation about his favorite topic, women and dating. I was unable to satisfy his daily appetite to talk about relationships. Not that work is my favorite topic, but it's been top of mind for me. I even woke up at 2:30am and at 5:30am this morning, and I'm blogging right now because I decided to give into my inability to get back to sleep. Might as well get up and get ready because the car to the airport is coming in a few mins. The simple reason is that a lot of responsibility was thrown on my shoulders three weeks ago and making my job difficult are people and the travel. Some people can easily undermine you. Travel takes me away from productivity that I end up working on the weekends, or staying late at work.
I knew more work was coming my way, but I didn't realize I'd end up in a S&%# storm. Prior to all this, I was hoping for a personally productive summer with the hopes of developing my web site or writing a book; whichever came first. Now I'll have to shelve both until autumn. On Friday night when I was out with the couple, my friend's wife said to me, "you can see it in your face, all the stress and fatigue." That's not good.
