You don't have to live in NYC to know one of the oldest korean bars in the city. The 3rd Floor Cafe has been around long before I arrived on 32nd Street. This past week my coworker who is also Korean and proud of it -- a former KSA president of a large west coast college -- wanted to Koreanize our fellow caucasian coworkers. I wasn't up to the task but he was persistent so I went along with the program. To my surprise, there was a $12 all you can drink special on Tuesday night, though it's the house wine being served which is risky if you're prone to migraines. We opted for a bottle of pinot grigio and my korean coworker ordered several rounds of strawberry soju to introduce our caucasian cohorts to the famed korean juice. After numerous shots, I was already getting a hangover an hour later. We of course tried the chicken and the anju. I'm glad we brought a little bit of Korea to our coworkers as their eyes certainly opened up to a new culture. Besides, after a few shots of soju you don't even realize you're in a korean bar.
