Comical LA

It's been a couple years since I've seen the Konman. We met up last night on Sunset in Hollywood. How appropriate since he's still chasing his dreams for Hollywood. We caught up on old times and it was fun to hear his crazy stories of partying with this actor and that actor, with this drummer from that band and so on. It seems like he spent more time networking in Hollywood than actually acting. I was surprised by the list of people he knows from SNL cast members to other known actors. Interestingly, we saw a handful of random actors where we were eating. He made a few interesting comments over dinner.

- Actors can't help actors. The only people that can materially effect his career are directors and producers.
- Everyone is connected to the "business" in LA and so you have to be nice to the waitresses because you could end up working for them someday.
- The latest hot club has a shelf life of 6-8 months, so when you see Asians flooding them, the buzz is over for that club. Asians are apparently death to the clubs.

After dinner, we headed over to the Improv Olympic where we watched up and comers sweat out improv comdey. It's a place where many SNL cast members and other famous comics have cut their teeth. After a few laughs, I headed back to the hotel. We agreed to collaborate on some script in the future. Then again, I've heard this story before.
