Adam Sandler

I just turned on the tube and Adam Sandler is the guest host on David Letterman because Letterman got suddenly ill. The reason I point this out is that I saw Sandler live doing stand up back in the early 90s. That night he was in the company of Rob Schneider and David Spade. These 3 guys had just become featured comics on SNL, so in essence they were auditioning for the full time gig. The night I saw Sandler, he had arrived late and was 3rd in the line up. He announced on stage that the reason he was late was because he had just did his first appearance on Letterman and caught the Amtrak a little later than expected. Fast forward to tonight and there he is, now as the guest host of the show and a $20mm a motion picture actor. My oh my, has he grown up big time. Many films and millions later, he's this huge star. Who would've thunk it? Interestingly, he did an abridged version of his stand up on Letterman that night. It was abstract and how Elvis lived in his fridge.
