Bernies

Within 24 hours, I've been downing wine like it's water. Last night was the wine tasting I tried in the Meatpacking district, and midday was the Waldorf luncheon. Tonight I headed over to Le Bernardin. In French, I think they refer to it as Bernies -- just kidding. It's known for their seafood and it was quite fantastic. We did start out with champagne for a toast. The sommelier suggested a Bordeaux, which I was hesitant to try since we were all having fish dishes. However, she noted that the chef always drinks Bordeaux with his dishes because of the complexities and the deep flavor of the dishes. I acquiesced to her strong suggestion and to our surprise, it was a very bold and delicious choice. It's hard to find a bolder wine than a Bordeaux; there's a certain arrogance to the taste. hahahahaha I sound like Sideways. I give Le Bernardin a thumbs up. Zagats also gives it a thumbs up. It compares well to Daniel and Per Se, which I ate at in the last couple of weeks. Anyway, after dining there I headed over to play volleyball. This time around, there was no trouble afterwards. ;)
