Yachts or the beach clubs of St. Tropez are the daytime leisure activities favored by most. The reason why there isn't a lot of foot traffic in town is because everyone's at the beach clubs: a place to lounge, look fabulous or just bake in the hot sun. All of them are located along the coast in Pampelonne Bay. We initially asked our concierge for the Nikki Beach Club or Club 55 because they were the two clubs I had read about online and heard about in the states. He steered us clear of it and recommended the club next door in Les Palmiers. That was a great choice. The service and facilities were superb. Even the restroom was nicer than most NYC restaurants. The folks in NY could learn something from these beach clubs. We made all of our reservations through our concierge and wherever we went, they referred to our hotel. What we found out later at the beach club was that Nikki beach is now dominated by Russians and Saudi Arabians and fights tend to break out with all the testosterone and money that flow through them. So it's basically overrated and past its prime.

What was so great about Les Palmiers other than service? The women. St. Tropez in general is unbelievable but the women at the beach club were just incredible. Also, the food was very good: linguine with clams and the seared tuna were outstanding. Before we went, I found this interesting entry about Les Palmiers from a blog called Luxeat. With the reservations, we were nicely seated in the front row for lunch so we can watch all the beautiful people walk by. I highly recommend Les Palmiers because it's classy with both excellent service and food. The DJ and models walking around made the experience that much better.
