Late Thursday afternoon, I received an email from our PR guy who passed on a contact. Apparently he wanted to introduce me to some CEO of a company that wanted to meet me, and usually I take all C-suite meetings so I reached out and scheduled something for late July.
Last night Darko arrived late to some bar I was drinking at. He told me he was playing golf yesterday with his boss at their country club. He said his boss' friend new me apparently, and said I was scheduled to meet with him in July. Darko asked if I knew Peter _____. Apparently, he saw me on the magazine cover and asked for the meeting as a result. After a pause, I realized it was the CEO of that company.
What a super small world. And no, they are not Asian or Korean. Random. Rather crazy because Darko and I work in two different worlds, and I am in a smaller niche.
