300

I do want to take movie critics to task because they generally suck. Many of them killed the movie 300 in their critique. The movie smashed records for March with $70mm in ticket sales this past weekend. I don't know art and I guess that may be for a narrow audience, so the critics voice may have more merit. When it comes to the movies, it's an object of the masses. Therefore, it's really a popularity contest. The only time movie critics are valuable is when they identify a movie that's not as heralded or independent and would go unnoticed without the voice of the critic. Otherwise, they're useless. Movies are about enjoyment and not so much about how artistic it is. Sure plot lines, acting and other variables are important, but at the end of the day, it's about enjoying a movie and having felt that my $11 tix was worth it.

Movies like this do indeed make me want to grab a movie critic by the throat and scream in their face "IT'S JUST A FRIGGIN MOVIE, AND A PRETTY GREAT ONE AT THAT! WHY CAN'T YOU JUST ENJOY IT LIKE THE REST OF US!" .. Sorry about that, but I had to rant a bit
