There are a few things that invariably happen when I travel: diet and exercise go out the door and I don't get much sleep. It's 3am and I can't go back to sleep. Not only am I losing precious rest, but I emerged from one of the better dreams I've had in recent memory. Usually they're abstract, but this was a good one because that "second chance" blog entry must've been on my mind when I fell asleep and redemption was mine; that is until I woke up.

My dinner last night was a lot of red meat and not much else, and I'm feeling the heaviness of it. Hopefully I'll get back to sleep so I can get enough rest before I hit the gym. I am very determined this year to hit the gym on the road because that's when the wheels fell off for me last year. I was eating like it was my last meal, drinking like it was my birthday, and simply not taking care of my body. I know I'm getting obsessed with working out and that's all I think about now. I use Google's spreadsheet function online and I wrote out a detailed training schedule. I put it online so I could have access to it from anywhere and quickly update my progress, even from the road. I figured by tracking my progress, this would keep me accountable. Working out has become my crack cocaine. Didn't Whitney Houston say "crack is whack!"

When I was speaking to JoJo and Helsinki on Sunday, I told them that I just need to change things up in 2007 because if I continue with the same efforts, then I will end up with the same results. I haven't done anything dramatic: just a little bit of this and that. I've replaced alcohol and coke with water. I've added a 4th and sometimes 5th meal: the super shake. I workout at least 4 days a week. And there's other stuff which I'd rather not mention. Can't let you know all my secrets.

I neeeeeeeeeed sleep!
