I turned on the TV for some white noise in the hotel room while I worked. On TV was the People Choice Awards and Patrick Dempsey was accepting an award for best male actor (I think?). I wasn't really listening but I heard him say something along the lines of a second chance. Maybe I misheard him but it resonated with me. I think of having a second chance, more often than not. Getting older means your more experienced, but it also means that most likely, you've made more mistakes than younger peers. I know I'm getting older and I enjoy it. I would've never dated me at 28 for many reasons. There are many things about me when I was in my late 20s that I'm embarrassed about. Am I perfect now? Far from it. However, I am comfortable with my own skin and that's very important. I just hope I get a second chance in many things.
