The Knicks are a disaster. Not just by record, but they are a disgrace to the city of New York and the game of basketball. But this isn’t about basketball anymore, it’s about loyalties, egos and friendships…. And the fact that Isiah Thomas is insane.

Let’s simplify

Isiah, after destroying the CBA, throwing the Raptors into a state of disarray, then managing to piss off the entire Pacer organization, gets a job as the GM of the Knicks. Ultimately, Tom Dolan is an idiot also. With the above resume, it was clear that not since the command of William Tecumseh Sherman has one individual employed a scorched earth policy so devastating as Isiah “Zeke” Thomas. It’s no wonder he was persona-non-grata around the Pistons franchise despite spearheading the team to 2 NBA Championships. Untimately, Dolan is the chess-master responsible for leaving Zeke in power; but it’s Zeke himself that has taken idiocy to the next level.

Let’s analyze the soap opera:

Isiah has surrounded himself with “his people.” He’s from the south side of Chicago – so is his childhood friend, Mark Aguirre, former Dallas Maverick, Detroit Piston and now Knick assistant coach. Eddie Curry grew up in Chicago. He also played for the Bulls. Quintin Richardson grew up in Chicago. He also played for DePaul. Jamal Crawford played for the Bulls. Jared Jeffries played for the University of Indiana. Guess where Thomas went to college? Is picking your team this easy?

Isiah, so is the consensus, further tarnished the already questionable reputation of one Larry Brown. LB is best friends with Gregg Popovich. They coached together in the Olympics and Brown stood in Pop’s wedding. And I refer you back to the shouting match between Isiah and Pop the last time the Knicks and Spurs played.

Yesterday’s brawl between the Knicks and Nuggets was just another round in the battles Isiah insists on creating for himself. Replays show, he told Melo not to go into the paint down the stretch. He told his players to foul hard. Larry Brown is a Tar Heel. George Karl, also a former Tar Heel, leaves his stars in (up 20 with one minute to go), in an attempt to rub salt in Isiah’s wounds and vindicate his boy LB… brawl ensues.

It’s really quite elementary. LB’s got a huge ego and many friends. Isiah has a huge ego and many friends. He also has a lot of enemies. Tom Dolan is a tool. And Isiah is still the idiot at blame.

And the Knicks suck.
