Heading to Mohegan Sun on Friday to throw the dice, play a little 3-card monte, and get a massage. Rather random but it's kind of a reward for something. Hopefully it'll be profitable. I just have to remind myself, "walk away, walk away"?
Casinos are the greatest business models of all time. They take advantage of your psyche. When you're winning, you can't leave the table because you feel your hot and you want more of it, so it's easy to let down your guard and play stupid like playing the field bets in Craps. If you're down, you convince yourself that you can make it back. In the end, the casinos have you exactly where they want you -- broke. Casinos don't stay open because of their charity. What's truly sad about casinos, especially down at AC are the old folks who are trying to parlay their social security checks into something greater. They should be spending it on their grandkids or using it for their prescription meds. Atlantic City is very depressing and scary. Don't go beyond one block of the casinos or your asking for trouble. One of the best sandwich shops in AC is the White House, but you have to venture beyond 2 blocks of the casinos to get there so walk carefully.
Never been to Mohegan Sun, but I hear it's better than Foxwoods. Hit me!
