The year is winding down and so is my brain. It's not functioning at all and who can blame me, it's the holidays. As someone once sang, "it's the most wonderful time of the year!" Today, a few of my coworkers left work to eat lunch at Nougatine, which is a Jean-Georges restaurant adjacent to one of my favorite restaurants in the city, Jean Georges. It's located in the Trump International hotel who's most recent famous resident -- when's he in town -- is Mark Wahlberg. Lunch took forever like at most of these high end NYC restaurants. Luckily, we did see Jean-George walking the restaurant floor but he did not drop by our youthful looking table.
For the third time in 3 weeks, and for the last time this year (I think), I went to the spa at Bliss in Soho which is aparently one of the top spas in NYC. I call it the Bloomingdales of Spas and as you already know, I have a strong preference for the Peninsula Hotel and Mandarin Oriental Hotel. First of all, it was packed like Bloomies during the Xmas season, and the place fit the Soho location -- high ceilings, lofty and vertical. Right now as I blog, my lower back is in mild pain and I blame it on the masseuse who had an odd technique that ws full of pinching. I did get a pedicure for the first time, which was very new to me. I'm not sure if it was good or not because I have nothing to compare it to, but I was convinced to do it by the person who was with me at Bliss. She encouraged me to do both a "mani and a pedi", and I said "whoa, let's slow it down now." Maybe I'll do a mani and pedi next time, because I don't need to be Mr. Metrosexual of the year. Nominate me next year.
