Last night I met up with Calendar girl who was visiting from the west coast. We've only seen each other once a year for the past few years. I'm not a big Ktown fan lately because I'm getting old and crusty, but we met up at the 3rd Floor Cafe anyway. Interestingly, she's not a fan of Ktown in NYC or LA but we oddly met at the place that best symbollizes Ktown New York.
I haven't gone to 3rd Floor on a Thurs or weekend night in a long time. Last night it was packed. I'm not sure if it was the usual suspects or a lot of people visiting from out of town for the holidays. The 3rd Floor was always known for it's skinny and pretty waitresses, but the last few years they're known as just skinny, except for the one bartender last night. Calendar made the observation that the crowd was a lot of older guys and younger ladies. The only things I noticed were the gangsta pretenders and the pseudo-Korean rap artists. I thought Halloween past already. I just don't get the Korean guy acting like a gangsta thing, because it just doesn't jive and they look pretty silly. The Korean ganstas have this funky gait which kinda looks like a monkey walking. The rap artist looked dumb because he was wearing an all white jump suit and white baseball cap, and his posse looked equally as dumb. I live in NYC and I know that's not the current styles of the time, nor is it the fashion of the future. I say grow up or go look in the mirror and find yourself. You'll be much happier than trying to be a poser.
