What a Monday! Little did I know the dreaded first day of the work week would be packed full of nuts. I started out depressed because my Iggles lost another heartbreaker. It picked up at lunch when I went to Pastis where I saw one of my favorite writers -- Malcolm Gladwell. I'm a fan of Tipping Point but not Blink. I've seen him speak twice and I only agree with few and not all his tenants. With that said, it's his writing style (not his hair style) that I wish I could imitate because he is brilliant with distilling matter into logic -- what matters most that is. So there he sat next to me reading his New York Times by himself.

So tonight I had to attend a black tie event -- The Broadcast & Cable Hall of Fame at the famed Waldorf Astoria. First of all, the Waldorf Astoria is an institution because it's soooo old but primarily because it's in Eddie Murphy's Coming to America and John Cusacks Serendipity. The last time I was here, I was accidentally spilling Coke Cola everywhere at some banking conference with Darko. If I recall, Darko was so embarrassed that he ran like the Dickens after the accident.

When I arrived and looked around, I thought I was in a synagogue but then again, this is an entertainment industry honors show. The other observation I made other than noticing that I was the only asian male -- REPRESENT! -- was that the 6-8 asian ladies all had caucasian hubbies or boyfriends. Leading this parade was Les Moonves and his gf Julie Chen (CBS Morning News) and Rupert Murdoch and his asian lovely.

So who did I see tonight and shook the hands of some?
Mary Hart of ET, Peter Chernin (CEO) of Fox, Mike Bloomberg, Al Roker, Ann Curry, Les Moonves, Rupert Murdoch, Susan Lucci, Tim Russert, Chris Albrecht (HBO CEO) and Susan Lucci.

So the real highlight of my evening was meeting Kelly Choi and pictures of her do no justice. She is seriously HOT! Quite frankly, she was the hottest gal at the Waldorf tonight. She looked great in her purple semi short skirt dress. Too bad she is way too tall but 6 inch heels will make anyone tall.
