So I didn't go out tonight for the Halloween festivities. If you've never been in NY on Halloween, it's crazy. There are people yelling outside my window like it's a Saturday night. I live in Chelsea which makes it worse because the parade goes down 6th Avenue. Oh yeah, there's this massive parade of over the top costumes. If you want to see the wildest, most daring and risque outfits (2nd to Gay Pride parade), stand on 6th Ave on Halloween. The sidewalks are packed and they won't let you cross 6th Ave. If you want to cross the avenue and get to your building, the cops will card you to verify. Just to cross the damn avenue!
I'm so not into Halloween as you can tell. It is amusing walking my block because it's a steady stream of freaks. I remember last year's Halloween. We ate at the Blue Water Grill and then proceeded to get hammered at the Park Bar. I got destroyed actually. I got escorted by two ladies back to my apt who were concerned I'd end up falling asleep in some random alley of New York. I did make it home that night, but I chucked it out twice during the 2 avenue block walk back. In fact, I have not come close to getting that hammered in the past year. Why do we treat our bodies like that?
