Sunday nights are back with Sopranos and Entourage on HBO. Lets begin with my true fav and that's Ari and the boyz. My only issue is that it's to short at 25 minutes, but that's an indication of how much I like the show. The scenes with Ari make the show because he creates tension among the characters, and it keeps you engaged. The other scenes are just fodder with guy talk and guys objectifying females. I'm glad they're emphasizing Lloyd more because after Ari, he's the next funniest guy. What's ironic is that the show is based on the entourage around a fictional movie superstar, Vincent Chase, but he's the least interesting of all the characters. Jeremy Pivens is brilliant as Ari and he's always pressing the character further into the living room. If Johnny Drama didn't exist among the entourage, it would be a bunch of dull guys. Someday I'd like to have a birthday party similar to Vincent Chase: sponsored by vodka, lingerie and spas.
Sopranos is frustrating but in the end, I know it's going to finish with a bang (literally). The pacing is what frustrates me because it can be mundane at times but thats part of why it's different from all the other dramas. I lived in NJ for half a year and I got to familiarize myself with all the places seen in the show. It has to be the ugliest state in the USA.
