After one of the roughest years of my entire life I needed this birthday more than any other -- new beginnings. I think it was a smashing success because I got smashed up successfully with friends, friends of friends and the occasional stranger that walked into our crowd as we held the largest party down on Bowery. I didn't know a 1/3 of the people there but that was expected. Darko and Hummer basically funded the party which I wish they hadn't. Darko slipped the doorman cash because if you weren't on the list then you had to pay the cover and they capped us at 50. A small investment by Darko permitted all revelers to pass go. My baby cuz told me stories today that I hope were made up; I hope she was trying to be funny. Anyhow, it's taken me 2 days to recover and I'm still feeling the malaise but less pain today. I've been on a drinking tear the last few weeks where I've drank every night but 2 in the last 3 weeks. I'm hoping this weekend was the finale and I'm going to slow it down even though I'm entering the busy holiday season where there are holiday parties and evening work events. If I can just hold off then my body will thank me.
So I danced my ass off upstairs and downstairs where the music was eclectic from the 80s to Smack That to my personal theme song -- bringing "sexy back" by Justin Timberlake. Man I enjoy dancing. I'm not going to say I'm any good but you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who enjoys dancing more than me. If there's a beat then I'll be dancing. Anyway, I'd share more details but my memory is very fuzzy and I'm not going to try to remember because I'm scared that my cuz wasn't kidding about the funny stuff from the evening. Personal thanks to Darko, Hummer, AirSuz, Jen and Pedro. Thanks to all who braved the painful doorman and came to celebrate. Note to cuz -- I'll see you at Aer on Wednesday night.
