Pooch is on his way

You know it's becoming a smaller world when you've met a couple of the gents on People magazine's sexiest man alive. Let me start with Pooch Hall whom I've met and drank with in NYC when he used to reside here. My best buddy from high school (outside of motown philly), the Konman did a NFL city tour for Miller Lite with Pooch and a couple of other starving actors. The Konman and I go way back when we were raising hell in the burbs of Philly. I respect the Konman b/c he's always held true to his craft of acting. He's never held a real job, unless you call delivering pizzas a real job. He and I used to run up to NYC after school (in high school) from Philly by way of car or by Amtrak to run to acting auditions. If there were open calls then I'd join in the frey but I never got the callback. I didn't have a manager nor an acting agent, but more importantly, I didn't know how to act. We had lots of fun running up and down to NYC from Philly and I never told my parents that I was in NYC. They always believed I was coming from the library at 11pm. So my initial affair with NYC started in high school going to auditions. Years later I arrived in NYC and roomed with the Konman when he wasn't sleeping over his 45 year old girlfriend's place -- he was 25 at the time. I would ask him, "how does it feel going to your girlfriend's PTA meeting for her 17 year old son?" He never took that question well. Anyway, I first met Pooch in Chicago as I was on a biz trip out there and they were on their Miller Lite tour bus. Konman always said that Pooch would probably be the most successful of the 4 guys on the tour because he had great talent. Konman's still in the game because he believes attrition will come into his favor after 30. Pooch - I salute you dude. Good luck in LA! So the second guy I know is Yul Kwon who apparently was nominated in the sexy men in sexy surroundings. Hopefully you won't get booted off tonight's show, but if so, have fun on Letterman because not a lot of asian men get on Letterman unless your name is Jackie.
