When I was chomping down on my Pat's cheesesteak on Sunday, I was truly 100% satisfied. It cost me less than $10 to have such ecstasy: a cheesesteak from South Philly, with onions, provolone, ketchup and hot peppers. Before Sunday, I ate at Per Se, Le Cirque and Del Posto within 3 days, with a Sapporo mixed in. Next to Masa, Per Se is one of the most expensive and heralded restaurants in NYC. On any given day, if you asked me to pick a cheesesteak from Pats or go to Per Se, I'm going South Philly. Don't get me wrong, Per Se is exquisite and I'll go back again. Food doesn't have to be expensive to be great.
Le Cirque has one of the best restaurant decors in NYC. The place is unbelievable. The service and food was first class. Hours after eating lunch at Le Cirque, I joined friends for drinks at the Modern on Thursday night. For all these years in NYC, I've never been. I hear it's a pretty good date place. After drinks, I went to the very low key and gritty Sapporo. Sometimes, in the midst of all the heavy saucy food, you need a good ramen noodle late at night.

I'd love to live in NYC. Been there twice but have been wanting to move since I was a teen. Well, I actually wanted to live in Tokyo, then Hong Kong. But now I've settled for NYC.
P.S. I love Korean entertainment! ^__^
I as well. Thank you for commenting.
I randomly came across your blog...I must say that it was quite enteraining NYCkorean.com (a.k.a. ???). I'm a Korean-American gal who recently moved to NYC from Philly...ditto on Pat's Cheesesteak! I'm a foodie myself...ever dine at Nectar in the burbs?
