That's the traditional response you hear from the Jamaicans, "yah man." We played 18 holes on the Robert Trent Jones designed course at Half Moon Bay, and played horribly. The reason why I'm sunburned is because I spent so much time in the beach (AKA bunkers). The sand is soft but I needed to shovel my way out because my sand technique has gotten so poor. My caddie kept saying to me, "yah man", all day. He was a good caddie because he was funny and he also made me attempt shots that were counterintuitive. There were several times where I had the option to punch out or lay up, and he'd say just go over the trees, or hit through the trees or just flop it over the sand. Playing this way was a lot of fun. Unfortunately, my tendency to find the sand traps lead me to a 98 on the score card. I haven't see that high of a number in ages. The course here is challenging because there are a lot of well placed traps and the winds make you take 2 clubs extra on certain shots. The winds are stronger here because it's a very open course with winds coming off the Caribbean. Darko was happy to break 100 with a score of 99.
Afterwards, we chilled at the pool and I just sat in the shallow area drinking rum punch and red stripe beer. I've been downing them like they're going out of style in Jamaica. After lunch, we headed out towards the airport to hop on some wave runners. The area was pretty limited but we were able to hit some good speed as we zipped back and forth along the shore line.
Man I'm tired. Tomorrow it's a repeat.
