I had brunch today with Darko at the W Hotel in Union Square. He brought up the old notion that money doens't buy happiness. There's someone we both know who runs his own hedge fund and got paid $30 million (after taxes) this year. The gent is apparently miserable with life and Darko reminded me that money really doesn't buy happiness, or at least $30 million sure doesn't. I do remember this guy sleeping over our apt a few years back when he was just starting out because he was in transition.
