What do you do at night in St. Tropez? Party at the clubs. I can't share to many details about the trip but here's a little bit about one of our evenings.

One of the hottest clubs in the world is in St. Tropez: Les Caves Du Roy. According to the World's Best Bar web site, Les Caves Du Roy is a "glitzy, glamorous, flashbulb-popping celebrity-rich nightclub .... entrance to the club is free if you can make it past the doorman, but since you usually have to be a millionaire, a model or royalty to do so, it might prove tough." Note that P. Diddy was rejected the week before as well as Tom Cruise a few weeks prior. Now the question before we landed in France was how were 3 Korean guys from America going to get into this club? Well, I can't say how but on Friday night, we three were ushered past the line of beautiful people into the nightclub. And NO, we didn't pay to get in. On Saturday night, we walked past the long line of rich Euros and beauties again. As we approached the main entrance, the doorman started to unlatch the red velvet rope but we said we were going to skip the club. He then said to us, "Gentlemen, it's a good night tonight," which is code for, "you gotta get in here because the ladies are looking outrageous."

We said thanks and walked away, but after 2 minutes, we turned around and went back to the club. As we approached the velvet ropes, the main doorman knew we were going to come in this time and once again, we were ushered in without pause in front of all the waiting beautiful and rich people. I can't say I experience this at New York clubs, but it was a lot of fun being ushered into one of the hottest clubs on the planet.

Inside, it was simply ridiculous. Champagne and vodka ($1000/vodka bottle) flowed from every table. The women were outrageous; I have never seen so many 6 ft tall models in one place. It was like being at the Victoria Secret's lingerie show. It was a lot of rich Euros, Saudis, and anybody else who had a LOT of money. Hummer told me that one of his friend's had dropped $44,000 the last time they were at Les Caves Du Roy. I can't say we dropped $44K, nor near that amount. Even if you came in without a table, Vodka/tonics started at $26 Euros.

The place is simply ridiculous. I recommend going once, but prepare to spend a lot and wait at the door unless you seriously know the right people.

There is one piece of irony. When we were in the club, the first few songs were of P Diddy's, which was hilarious since he got rejected from the club.

These are a few photos and videos from the night:

Cool to see a Korean-American guy in his 30s get access to clubs like this.

I've been living in Europe for half a decade now and I'm usually the only Asian male at these venues, much less mackin' on the ladies.

Speaking of which, some French girls have the Asian jungle feva.
