Phightin Phils

Last minute, we bought tixs to watch the Phightin Phils play the Detroit Tigers. Darko is a Detroit die hard. Hummer and I are Philly fanatics, but recently, Hum has been demoted to half a fan because he toggles between the hated Cowboys and the Eagles. Last night I was up late with a host of folks in my apt till 3am. I woke up early so we could drive down to make it a true Philly day: eat cheesesteaks. The only thing missing from the day was Rita's water ice. Darko likens it to a snow cone, but it's far superior to that where there are chunks of fruit in your flavored ice. My personal favorite is cherry water ice.
We got down to Philly from my apt in record time: 1hr 50 mins. As soon as we crossed the Walt Whitman bridge, we went straight for Pat's, the real king of cheesesteaks. Philadelphians are split between Pat's or Geno's, but I'm a Pat's man. What makes a cheesesteak great? It's the bread. When you step up to the plate for your order, you gotta have it "wit."

We picked up the tixs and arrived early at the park. I had never been to Citizens Bank Park and it's one gorgeous place. This is the second MLB park in recent weeks: Phillies and SF Giants.

Going to a baseball park is kinda cool to do once in a while, but it does get a little boring here and there. We walked around a bit during the middle innings to check out the park. Darko and I found the pitch machine and he barely beat me with a 60mph pitch.
