Nascar Nation

Reality hit me quickly when I woke up at 5am this morning to get to the airport for a quick plane ride down to Myrtle Beach. I didn't get to sleep last night until 3am b/c I'm still on Hawai'i time. I am very tired right now. I'm down here for a conference, but I took the early flight to play a round of golf before work begins this evening. Funny how I'm staring out into the dark blue Atlantic Ocean. I was staring out into the Pacific Ocean just a few days ago in Hawai'i. I prefer the waters and waves of the Pacific blue. Just a few thoughts before I head out to go play golf:

- Will I get back to NYC on time on Tuesday because there's another storm hitting the Northeast again, and I flew out of the worst airport known to man -- next to Chicago O'Hare -- LaGuardia.

- America is HUGE. There's big, but then there's very very big and I'm surrounded by a lot of big tourists here. While the rest of the world's health crisis is famine, ours is obesity and affluence. There's nothing wrong with being big, but you have to be a bit concerned when you can't walk straight and you shuffle sideways to move forward.

- Southern folks are way to nice, or maybe New Yorkers are just mean and what I'm experiencing down here is normal? I've heard "Good Morning" more times today than I've heard it in NYC all year.
