If I were an odds maker in Vegas, I'd have the Eagles favored over the Giants with an 11 point spread - gaudy isn't it? Momentum coming into the playoffs is important and the Giants backed up -- beep, beep, beep -- into the playoffs by losing 6 of 8 and winning over the Retch-Skins last week to finally make it in. Darko said mid-season that I jinxed the Iggles by an early blog entry that predicted they would win the NFC East. Guess what, they did win the NFC East SUCKA! Now it wasn't in the fashion I predicted, but the final result is what counts. The Eagles are the hottest team in the NFC having won 5 straight and more importantly, they have a lot of confidence unlike the Giants. The Giant's defense can't stop the AARP team from scoring because of all their injuries: Strahan, Arrington, etc. Eli looks like Herschel Walker of the post-millennium. Sure the Eagles have deficiencies, but what they have over the Giants is leadership and character. Perhaps the Giants have more talent, but I'd rather have heart, leadership and character on my team.
I'm sure Darko will once again tell me I'm jinxing the Eagles but I don't believe in them (except for Madden Live), and if I did, then they've already lost because Jeff Garcia was on the cover of SI this week and that's the most famous sports jinx. Darko has bet me a dinner over the Eagles game. Should be fun boys and girls!
