I go to Ktwon to eat once a week, sometimes every other week. I like to get my Korean food fill because I luv Korean food. Tonight, Hummer and I tried out Don's Bogam BBQ & Wine Bar. I've passed it hundreds of times since its opening a couple years ago but never really considered going in because kalbi and wine doesn't seem to be the appropriate match -- more beer or soju than wine. We dropped by because I had a couple of friends recently tell me that it's the best kalbi in town. Hmmmmm, the best kabli? When we walked in it seemed pretty promising because it had a LSF -- Low Smell Factor. As we all know about Korean restaurants, there's a smell factor. To give you a range, Kum Kang San is HSF (High Smell Factor) and Kam Mi Oak is LSF. So for a restaurant known to be a house of kalbi, I was pleasantly surprised by the LSF. The decor was pretty good but unfortunately, the food and ban-chan didn't pass the test. It was average at best. Oh well, as I said before in an earlier blog entry the best Korean food is across the East and Hudson rivers.
