Ahhhhh the Hamptons

Even though the sun rarely made an appearance, the weekend was satisfying with 2 rounds of Golf (89 & 84) and fellowship with friends from college days. We arrived in the Hamptons on Friday and our first round of golf appeared to be a wash out with an unrelenting rain but 10 minutes before our scheduled tee time, the rain stopped and play resumed at the golf course. The next day we played a little badminton and tennis because the house had both courts. I played 4 years of college tennis which technically makes me a "student athlete" according to both the NCAA and NAIA. However, I haven’t picked up a racket in over 5 years and it became apparent that I wouldn’t make a high school tennis team with my diminished skills. Oh well, I enjoy golf a lot more.

The only event to note is that while I was playing golf, the other group of friends who opted not to play golf went into town to check it out. If you ever want to know what it feels like to be an alien or to be a celebrity with people staring at you then go into any town in the Hamptons. The white folk either aren’t used to Koreans roaming the sidewalks or they think you’re one of the Korean characters from Lost. Unfortunately for them, they can’t escape diversity by just driving out of NYC and heading east to the fork.

i think it happens to the best of us. when i first picked up a racket again 3 weeks ago, i was embarrassed to say that i ever played competitively. but you need to get some rest and stop blogging in the middle of the night!
